The Marvelous Story Go Round
A night of hilarious true tales
Get ready to laugh, cringe, and nod in recognition as people take the mic to share their funniest real-life stories on this month’s theme is first and or worst! We’re telling hilarious tales about first or worst anything – jobs, boyfriends, concerts it could even be both!
In the spirit of The Moth (but strictly the funny side), a lineup of comics will each tell a funny story about firsts or worsts—jobs, lover, car, marriages. Expect honesty, chaos, and comedy gold.
Then it’s your turn!
At the end of the show, anyone in the audience can jump up and share their own quick, one-minute “first or worst” story. The mic is open, the laughs are real, and the stories might just steal the night.
Dining Options
Beyond the Table will be on site with delicious dining options, along with Omega Road and New Vintage will be pouring your favorite local wines and hard spritzers. Come hungry, thirsty, and ready to laugh.
Drawing from her experience as founder and co-owner of Taste & Wander Charcuterie, Amanda expands beyond the board, bringing her signature hospitality and flavor to a broader, chef-led table.

Your Storytellers

Lu Klein
Lu is always game for finding the funny in life no matter how absurd, Lu decided to give comedy a whirl, and hasn’t looked back. She has always believed that real life is funnier than anything you could make up. So she stopped making things up and just started telling the truth onstage. Audiences haven’t stopped laughing since.

Nic B.
A husband, father, and proud Livermore resident, Nic’s style blends brutally honest self reflection with the absurd thoughts that keep him awake at night. He has been a favorite on indie shows, bars & wineries, club showcases, and is a rising star on the roast battle circuit. Nic is sure to leave you with memorable stories & punchlines and plenty of new things to research after the show.

Jacob Parnell
Jacob Parnell is an up and coming comic from Livermore, CA. He won Best Comic at Tommy T’s open mic competition, was featured on “Comedians Got Talent” at the Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek, and performed at Comedy Oakland and the award-winning Alameda Comedy Club. Jacob brings an upbeat vibe to the stage with his clean, observational humor. Fun fact: He’s actually a church pastor. So he’s already used to people tuning him out!

Robert Ferrera
Robert spent his formative years writing, directing and performing with a sketch comedy troupe in Southern California called Fractured Mirror. he is currently performing improv with TEAM Theatre and writing and developing sketch comedy in the Tri- Valley.

Andy Obert
Andy is a Pleasanton-based tech executive who spent decades leading sales teams and sitting through meetings that should have absolutely been emails – so he naturally turned to stand up comedy. A Midwestern living in the Bay Area, Andy’s comedy tackles marriage, parenting adult kids, observations on his upbringing, corporate life, and his ventures into therapy. When not on stage he is trying to figure out if he is having a midlife crisis or just finally has enough money to admit it.
Your Host

Brian Maggi
Brian is the creator, and host of Adulted, and a Bay Area comedian and writer. He left the high stress world of tech for the low wage life of standup comedy performing under the stage name Skip Everett. His biggest claim to fame is inventing the Spam filter so he’d have an excuse for not reading his parents’ emails.
He performs regularly around San Francisco including Cobbs, The Punchline, and Rooster T. Feathers. He has written for Chicago’s Second City, and co-created the underground humor magazine “In Formation.” He is a published author, and keynote speaker on innovation and creativity.
