One half of The Colossal Show\, San Jose’s premier independent comedy showcase\, David is a mainstay both in the local scene and comedy clubs across the state. \n\n\n\nDavid was a finalist in the 2011 Rooster T Feathers New Talent and 2012 Battle of the Bay comedy competitions\, and has worked with Carly Aquilino\, Pete Davidson\, Kevin Shea\, Sheng Wang\, Brandon T. Jackson\, Phil Palisoul\, Dat Phan\, Marc Ryan\, John Henton\, John Heffron\, and Robin Williams. He opened Anthony Jeselnik’s 3rd Special: Thoughts & Prayers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKristina Pandis\n\n\n\nKristina grew up in Macedonia\, which is not the smallest\, but definitely the most unknown country in the world. She’s been dubbed “Macedonia’s funniest female comedian”\, in part because no one else showed up to claim the title. Kristina’s life experiences an immigrant to the U.S. continue to influence and inspire her hilarious views of the world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Maggi\, Host\n\n\n\nBrian is the Executive Producer of Showmentum\, and organizer of this show. He is a Bay Area comedy staple as well as the host and creator of Adulted. He left the high stress world of tech for the low wage life of standup comedy. She has been performing in the comedy and improv world for over 15 years and is the 2nd Place Winner of the 2019 San Francisco International Comedy Competition (the 1st woman in 36 years\, and the only woman other than Ellen Degeneres to hold this title).  \n\n\n\nYou may have caught Gina on season 17 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent where she received 4 yesses from the celebrity judges. Howie Mandel calls her “wonderful” and “memorable”. Festival credits include the World Series of Comedy Las Vegas\, Boston Comedy Festival\, SF Improv Festival\, Hawaii Improv Festival\, and more. She was featured on the Andrea Savage podcast\, in the Un-Scripted Theatre Company and headlines at comedy clubs throughout the country. He stepped on the stage in 2012 and has never looked back. By 2016 he had the #1 selling comedy special in California called “I Can’t with You” which he wrote and coproduced.  \n\n\n\nOften compared to Jamie Foxx he has worked with the late great Charlie Murphy\, Tony Roberts\, Mark Curry\, Luenell\, Sinbad\, Mo’nique\, Tommy Davidson\, and  recently hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to perform in Rhythm N’ Roast. Mario’s creative mind and animated style will have you crying with laughter and wanting more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClara Bijl\n\n\n\nClara moved to America when she was 18 years old to go to college in South Carolina\, as you do when you come from France. Regina has her own unique perspective on what most might consider the mundane details of ordinary life: raising three boys\, being married (or not)\, aging parents\, health care\, navigating the world of special education\, mini-van motoring and the grocery store. \n\n\n\nRegina’s comedic ramblings take a look at an ordinary life and redefine what it is to be normal. The journey of a “Catholic\, Democratic\, lesbian\, stay-at home soccer mom with an Autistic son” living in the suburbs provides endless entertainment along the way. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJosh Argyle\n\n\n\nJosh  is equally at home telling jokes at comedy club as he is at a BBQ or barbershop. His quick wit and “everyman” relatability have helped him carve out a respected spot in the competitive Bay Area comedy scene. He is a regular at the Punch Line and Cobbs comedy club as well as a participant in the 2019 San Francisco International Comedy Competition.  \n\n\n\nJosh has opened for national touring comedians such as Kyle Kinane\, Doug Stanhope\, Pablo Francisco and Dave Attell. Before stand-up Josh spent six years as part of a traveling imrov comedy troupe. This experience help pave the way for his spontaneous comedy style. Thompson\n\n\n\nStuart is a stand-up comedian\, actor\, voiceover actor\, writer\, and host. He has been featured in the New York Times. His debut album “Dandy Man” debuted in the top ten on Apple Music and can be heard on all streaming platforms\, including Sirius XM. He has been seen on Robert Rodriguez’s “Matador” on the El Rey Network and a Toyota commercial\, in which he spoke both English and Spanish. His voice can also be heard in the Spanish dub of the Nick Jr. show HobbyKids Adventures. He has written for the National Lampoon and the CBS Diversity Showcase. He has performed in 9 countries & all the major comedy clubs nationwide. On his late night talk show – The L8 Night Show with Stuart & Luke – at the Hollywood Improv\, Stuart shared the stage with many comedians including Nikki Glaser\, Joe Rogan\, and Adam Devine. He has opened for  Russell Peters\, Ali Wong\, Dana Gould\, and Iliza Shlesinger. Most recently\, he recorded his debut comedy special\, which will be available in early 2024. \n\n\n\nStuart’s love for comedy began at the age of 12 when he saw George Carlin on TV and was mesmerized by Carlin’s ability to captivate a crowd with only his thoughts and words. A few years later\, Stuart began watching Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Saturday Night Live religiously\, longing for an opportunity to perform comedy in front of an audience but believing it wasn’t something he had access to do. It wasn’t until Stuart was 18 and a student at UC Berkeley that he went to his first open mic at the Brainwash Cafe in San Francisco that the dream of being a comedian began to become a reality. Within a year\, Stuart was performing on shows all over the Bay Area. On his first paid show\, he got to meet Robin Williams and Mort Sahl and realized that a career in comedy was possible. He has been entertaining audiences ever since then. \n\n\n\nCurrently\, Stuart can be seen performing all over Los Angeles and the U.S. as he builds his new hour of stand-up.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrooke Heinichen\n\n\n\nBrooke is the winner of the 2019 Rooster T Feather’s comedy competition\, out of 180+ comics. She has performed at the 2018 and 2019 SF Sketchfest\, selected as one of Audible’s Fresh Faces of Stand-Up (a show highlighted in USA Today)\, and opened for Janeane Garafolo. She was selected for the 2018 SF International Comedy Competition\, and has performed at the SF Punch Line\, Cobb’s Comedy Club and is a paid regular at Rooster T. Feathers. She has studied satire writing with The Second City\, and her jokes have been featured on the front page of Reddit and as the Joke of the Week at the DNC Speechwriters office. She produces monthly Bay Area showcases Jokelandish\, Resistance is Fertile and Brave New Jokes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Maggi\n\n\n\nYour host\, Brian is comedian\, writer and executive producer of Showmentum. He has performed all around the Bay Area including Cobbs\, Rooster T. Feathers\, and The Punchline. He has opened for Laurie Kilmartin\, Kira Soltanovich and The Daly Show Writers Tour. \n\n\n\nHe has written for Second City\, a various publications. Armed with more than her share of black clothing\, meatball recipes\, and quick-witted sarcastic responses\, during a quarter-life crisis\, she moved to San Francisco. After more than a decade in the Bay Area\,  \n\n\n\nSue’s laid-back attitude is just a beard for the silently\, but deadly sarcasm she still delivers without warning. She’s a mom of two\, married to a feminist man who cooks\, cleans\, and grocery shops. Sue’s fear of missing out causes her to have a full schedule. She will try anything once\, but comedy seems to have stuck. She works all over the Bay Area and has opened for Steve Hytner\, Don Friesen and has performed at SF Punchline and Cobbs comedy club. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCarrie Gilbert\n\n\n\nCarrie is one of the slowest-rising comedians in the country. After being knighted with the Class Clown yearbook honorific at Foothill High School in 1992\, she received an award for “strengthening the fabric of goodwill that exists in the world through laughter” after she performed at a benefit gig in Seattle in 1997. She made it to the finals of the Killer Laughs competition at Dublin’s (dearly departed) Bunjo’s Comedy Club in 2012. She also made it onto Last Comic Standing if you count the crowd shots in the first episode of the seventh season.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNic Briana\n\n\n\nNic is a Livermore resident via New Hampshire and many other of our country’s fine states\, he can confidently name 45 of the 50 state capitals along with every US President in order.   \n\n\n\nDespite this\, he managed to find himself a wonderful wife and beautiful daughter who lovingly nudged him towards performing stand up comedy when they found out it would get him out of the house for a few hours a week.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJ. Mills\n\n\n\nPlaying dive bars\, dry bars\, sand bars\, comedy clubs\, chess clubs\, pizza parlors\, machine shops\, rail cars\, and backyards from here to RENO . . . It’s J. Shawn always tries to find humor in various situations\, even the toughest of struggles he has encountered so far in life. \n\n\n\nShawn was born in Victorville\, Calif. but raised in Honolulu\, Hawaii. He attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa\, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Theatrical Arts and TV production. Praised for his smart writing and dry delivery\, Ryan became the youngest person to win the World Series of Comedy in 2019. Since then he has also won the 45th San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2021and become a paid regular at The Punchline San Francisco\, Cobb’s Comedy Club\, Laughs Unlimited\, and dozens of other clubs across the country. He’s performed at The Motor City Comedy Festival\, The Santa Cruz Comedy Festival\, and was named Oakland Comedy Machine’s 2018 Tournament of Champions winner. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIris Benson\n\n\n\nIris has garnered such praise as “Bleak and honest”\, “pleasantly dark”\, “wonderfully weird” and “pretty good for a woman” by no one worth mentioning.  \n\n\n\nShe has performed at SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto. Paul is absurdly tall and may become confrontational if you claim to know more about Harry Potter than he does. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmily Van Dyke\n\n\n\nOriginally from the Midwest\, Emily loves best friend tattoos and telling inappropriate stories at baby showers. Emily has opened for Colin Quinn and Judah Friedlander\, she has performed in SF Sketchfest and she’s a local favorite in the Bay Area. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Maggi\n\n\n\nBrian is the Executive Producer of Showmentum\, and organizer of this show. He is a Bay Area comedy staple as well as the host and creator of Adulted. He left the high stress world of tech for the low wage life of standup comedy. Veering between one-liners\, short story jokes\, and sometimes even song\, Opitz’ writing is as well-regarded as his character and performance work. \n\n\n\nHe has been a featured guest on the Doug Loves Movies Podcast and The Benson Interruption. He was a featured performer at the 2016-2019 San Francisco Sketchfests and  winner of Bay Area legend Jimmy Gunn’s “Best Newcomer” award. He is a regular host at Punch Line San Francisco and Sacramento\, Cobb’s Comedy Club and is a feature act at Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Club and San Jose Improv.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDavid Nguyen\n\n\n\nDavid Nguyen is a writer and comedian currently writing and comedianing in California’s Bay Area. One half of The Colossal Show\, San Jose’s premier independent comedy showcase\, David is a mainstay both in the local scene and comedy clubs across the state. \n\n\n\nDavid was a finalist in the 2011 Rooster T Feathers New Talent and 2012 Battle of the Bay comedy competitions\, and has worked with Carly Aquilino\, Pete Davidson\, Kevin Shea\, Sheng Wang\, Brandon T. Jackson\, Phil Palisoul\, Dat Phan\, Marc Ryan\, John Henton\, John Heffron\, and Robin Williams. He opened Anthony Jeselnik’s 3rd Special: Thoughts & Prayers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKaren Braswell\n\n\n\nKaren is a San Francisco based comedian with a fresh take on dating\, dogs and growing up as the teacher’s pet. Originally from New York\, Karen left Wall Street to pursue a career in “anything else”. She has performed comedy at every stage\, sidewalk and dive bar all over SF. A regular at many local favorites like Cobb’s\, Punch Line and Cheaper Than Therapy\, Karen is also a regular host and runner for the free workshop Ad Lib Mic for aspiring comics. Oh yeah\, and she just got her own Netflix account! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Maggi\n\n\n\nBrian is the Executive Producer of Showmentum\, and organizer of this show. He is a Bay Area comedy staple as well as the host and creator of Adulted. He left the high stress world of tech for the low wage life of standup comedy. His biggest claim to fame is inventing the Spam filter so he’d have an excuse for not reading his parents’ emails. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeating & Venue Information\n\n\n\nAll parties attending will automatically get a reserved table. He recently performed as apart of Comedy Central’s Cluster Fest and performs regularly at other comedy festivals\, including SF Sketchfest for the past five years. He was listed as one of the Bay Area’s best stand-up comedians by SFist and won the title\, Best Joke by the award-winning F blog Courting Comedy. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSue Alfieri\n\n\n\nSue is best known for her comedic storytelling about her adventures being a New Jersey Italian and raising a family in California.  \n\n\n\nShe has performed at the Punchline\, Cobbs\, The Hollywood Improv and Comedy Store along with many other venues across the state. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Maggi\n\n\n\nBrian is the executive producer of Showmentum and performs around the Bay Area\, including Cobbs\, The Punchline\, and the Bankhead Theater.
